Graduation will be live streamed for those that can't make it!
Seniors, it will be breezy so have a plan for your caps and stoles, or just be ready to hang on to them, but I think our attendance will exceed the capacity of our gym, and I don't want anyone to not get to see their kid graduate! For those family members that could not make it today, or if you would like to go back and watch the recording, the graduation ceremony will be streamed live with our Hudl focus camera- go to this website: https://fan.hudl.com/usa/wy/worland/organization/9081/worland-high-school
UPDATE - Canvas Instructure Breach Incident
Washakie #1 was notified last evening by Steve Daly, CEO Instructure that they have "reached an agreement" with the unauthorized actor involved in this incident. All data were returned, and we have been assured that any data gathered (from any university or K-12 school) will not be further shared on the dark web or elsewhere. Their cybersecurity insurance team received proof that all copies of data were deleted, and that no Canvas Instructure customers will be extorted - publicly or otherwise.
While core learning data (course content, assignment submission, account credentials) for Worland schools was not compromised, Washakie #1 felt it necessary to follow through with training and efforts to protect student privacy. All students with internal school emails have gone through password reset protocol forcing strong password rules. In addition, all students in grades 6-12 received lessons on email security and the ever-increasing potential for phishing scams. Students were instructed to protect their passwords, never to use the same password for multiple accounts, to watch for fake accounts, and to consult an adult if something seems wrong. For personal accounts, students were advised to use multifactor authentication whenever possible - especially with personal financial accounts.
As additional information comes in regarding the Canvas Instructure incident, we will keep you informed.
To the Washakie #1 Community:
By now you may have heard on the news that universities and K-12 schools across the country have been impacted by a data breach involving Canvas, the Learning Management System (LMS); all Canvas sites appear to have been shut down. The Wyoming Cyber Assistance Response Effort (CARE) Team is aware of, and is monitoring, the situation.
As a precautionary measure, District and Building Administrators will guide students through the password reset process, with brief lessons on Data Privacy and Online Safety measures. As new information comes in we will let you know.

We are aware that fake text messages are being sent to parents stating that school buildings will be closed today, Friday, April 10th, due to a water main break. This information is not true. School is in session as normal today. Please rely only on official communication from the school district for accurate updates.
